On Our Way to Shipping 1.2 Million Pairs of Shoes
Celebration was most certainly in order at the new logistics center on Friday evening, October 17, 2017. Just one year after the groundbreaking ceremony, team members and visitors alike returned to the site to see the completed building in all its glory. A phenomenal team of architects, engineers, and builders had come together to complete the project in an impressively short timeframe.
The building that emerged on the 6,800 square meter site measures 30 meters wide, 100 meters long, and 16.5 meters high. The HAIX® lettering on the front of the building alone measures an impressive 5.5 meters in height and 28 meters in length. There is space for 8 loading trucks at a time. What's more, there is enough storage space for up to 350,000 pairs of shoes. The entire surface area of the property is roughly the size of three soccer fields, and there is enough extra space left over for any future expansion that may take place.
Each year, HAIX® will send 1.2 million pairs of shoes out into the world from this location. This is why Ewald Haimerl sees the new logistics center as a key element to our continued growth: "It is our goal to increase yearly revenue to 150 million euros. This is highly ambitious and can only be accomplished if our production and logistics are properly equipped to handle the volume." Our investment in technology and growth is humbling in a town like Mainburg, which is so rich in tradition and history. The town now becomes an international hub for high-tech products by HAIX.
