EXTRAGUARD™ is a robust synthetic leather material on the upper portion of the Rescue Xtreme. It’s 40% lighter than full-grain leather, absorbs less water, dries faster, and is easier to clean.
The Rescue Xtreme is NFPA certified by UL to NFPA 1999 for emergency medical operations, and NFPA 1990 (1994 class 1). For chem bio, the Rescue Xtreme is certified to be worn in conjunction with a multi-threat ensemble which is also certified to NFPA 1990 (1994).
With the CROSSTECH inner liner, the Rescue Xtreme does offer protection from liquids, chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens. The boots are tested and certified according to NFPA 1999 standards for biopenetration.
