Double Duty Boots for Comfort and Protection
For a paramedic, the majority of your shift is spent wearing station gear. Having the right boot will make for happier feet and a happier work life. Not only do you need footwear that will keep you comfortable, but you need to have a pair of boots that will keep you protected from the many safety hazards you can encounter out on a call. HAIX Airpower R1 does double duty by offering all day comfort and all day protection. It's NFPA certified for station and EMS making it an ideal dual purpose boot.
Arch Support and Laced in Zipper System
The Airpower R1 is made with built in support for the arch which is the area that often takes the brunt of the pressure after prolonged periods of standing. The cushioned insole enhances this even more by making your feet feel comfortable, preventing foot pain and possible foot problems in the future. And with an anatomically correct steel toe, your toes get enough movement without getting pinched or cramped.
For a more personal fit, the laced in zipper system lets you adjust the lacing allowing you to easily put the boot on and take it off whenever needed. Because on the job, seconds matter.
European Leather for Maximum Durability
The Airpower R1 is made of European leather assuring long lasting durability in your boots. The specially developed rubber sole helps keep the boots slip resistant, heat resistant, and oil and fuel resistant. And with the embedded steel puncture plate, your feet are protected from potential puncture hazards. Offering the best puncture protection on the market, it’s so than and comfortable you won't even know it's there.
Quick Drying Insoles and Extreme Slip Resistance
The HAIX Airpower R1 soles can grip well and resist slippage when exposed to water and oil. Whether you're on duty running on hardwood, tile, or linoleum flooring, your boots are guaranteed to grab hold.
The perfect fit insoles are made from extremely absorbent material with quick drying capabilities. Once they're washed, just hang them overnight and they'll be ready to wear the next day.
Waterproof and CROSSTECH® Protected
In addition to being waterproof and breathable, the HAIX Airpower R1 is also resistant to chemical and bloodborne pathogens. So it doesn't matter whether you're on emergency EMS call or medical duty, the HAIX Airpower R1 is guaranteed to protect your feet from water and even dangerous liquid substances. Great boots overall until approximately 10 months of wear when they started to separate a large hole developed on the front side. The zipper handle broke off on the other boot. Zipper has become more difficult to use. I called the customer service numb

Best boots hands down
These are the best boots I've ever had the pleasure of putting on my feet. Being on my feet for long periods of time have always caused my ankle and hips to hurt. Now I go home after a 12-hour shift and no longer hurt. I also no longer get athlete's foot like I used too in the past with other brand boots. I am a 100% sold man on the Haix brand. I will from now on only buy Haix.
Best boot I have had
I got a pair of R1s for working at the airport. Our company provides low quality steel toe sneakers, but I wanted more protection. The steel toe and puncture resistant provide great protection from heavy bags and ground support equipment. The zipper is a plus when going through TSA metal detectors. Great product gents
Nice boot but!
These boots take a bit to get broke in, but with that in mind they a decent boot for every day wear. On the down side if you live where the climate gets cold with snow and ice they are horrible, the sole is extremely stiff and when it comes ice or snow it's like walking on roller bearings.
Still looking for a good long lasting EMS boot.......
Bought these boots about a year ago and thought they were the best boot I've ever put on my feet. They were amazingly comfortable. Well that opinion change very quickly. Now my background is working as a career Firefighter-EMT-B and working for a private medical transport company. Now the problems I have had with this boot is that the "quick" on-off zipper sucks, and gets stuck almost every time I zip them up or down, which is very ignoring. And the other problem I have ran into is that the boot itself dosn't last to long. They looked very well built but the sole is breaking apart and has a massive hole in it, this started to develop only after about 8 months of wearing them. I will say tho that I wear these boots almost every day and I am very rough on them, but still I have never seen a boot like this that the sole is falling apart on. In summary, I probably won't be buying a Haix boot again and I definitely won't be recommending them anytime soon.
Hi Joe, we are very sorry to hear about the issue with your boots. Please call customer service at 866-344-4249 as they would be happy to discuss this further and work toward a possible solution.
This was my 4th pair of Haix boots purchased in the last 5 years, not due to any issues with the boots, just due to being a very active career firefighter/medic. While the first 3 pair were by far the best boots I have ever worn, this new pair refuses to break in, and there seems to be a malformed section of leather which causes a protrusion into my foot making walking torturous. It's been over a week of steady wear with negligible change. Unfortunately these are going back in the closet until another new pair can be purchased, hopefully without the misshapen interior. With any hope the next pair will reinforce my previous thoughts on the boots, and hopefully not continue my disappointment.
Hello Robert. Thanks for contacting Haix North America. We're very sorry to hear about your experience with your new Airpower R1 boots. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you and try to resolve this issue. Please contact Customer Service at 1-866-344-4249 as this may be a Warranty issue.
My dept. offers numerous boots for us to choose from and you get a new pair whenever you need them. So at least every 2 years. I purchased the Airpower R1s out of pocket at an FDIC conference in Indianapolis. As Scott eluded to that the initial break in can be painful. I'm also sure it is different for everyone. Mine was about a week or so. I am now on my fourth pair and looking to purchase another for a back up. The boots give excellent support, water proof, the toe cap saves me from polishing them every week. I also agree they are a bit on the pricey side. So my only suggestion to HAIX is to make them a bit more affordable. Thank you for making a great product!!
Best boots ever!
I have been in the fire service for 13 years and have worn just about every brand of boot out there. I am a career firefighter/paramedic, volunteer firefighter in my spare time and provide disaster response for the federal government, therefore I am notoriously rough on footwear. I literally wear them every day. I usually buy a new pair of boots every 9 months to a year. I purchased a pair of R1s in early 2011 and they lasted until last month when the leather on the side wore through and the inner sole began to separate. In my book 3 years is a victory. They did take a bit to break in, but once I did, they were the most comfortable boot I have worn. Time to happily purchase a new pair of Haix!
great comfortable boot but pricey
Great comfortable pair of boots. Definately a great purchase only downside to the purchase is that one of my soles has worn 2 spots the size of quarters on them . Have only had about 9 months. Will be seeing is the warranty will help correct this.
Best boots hands down!
I have had many other station/tactical boots over the years and have yet to have anything even come close to Haix boots! All other boots I was lucky to go 6 months to a year out of but these probably have 3 years and are hands down the most comfortable and best fit boots i have ever owned!!! I count on these boots every day to keep my feet safe whether at a construction site or working a fire scene and would highly recommend these boots to anyone looking for comfort, protection, and durability!
Worst boot I've ever put on
I have been a paramedic for 14 years, and I have worn just about every brand of boot on the market during that time. At no time through my career have my feet hurt as bad as they do after wearing these boots.
The way the arch is cut I have pain in my heels that shoot up my calves in both legs. Due to the lateral laces, I cannot get the boot adequately tight enough to give myself enough ankle support. I feel like I have zero ankle stability.
STAY AWAY from these boots. Buy a pair of 5.11's for $100 less.
The Airpower R1 boots have a built in arch support system. While this is one of the top selling features of this boot, it can be uncomfortable to those who may have flat feet. In addition, the built in arch support may require a slightly longer break-in period. If you continue to experience pain, please contact our office and we would be happy to try to resolve this issue for you.
To adjust the laces, we recommend that you zip the boot first, then feed the laces up through the lace holes, pulling both strings straight up once you've reached the top, then tie. This should help to tighten the area around your ankles.
Best wearing. Most comfoprtable ever
As retired military and now a commercial diver, I am picky about my footwear. After seeing Haix on some of my German friends (GSG9) and later at the AUSA Meeting in D.C. years ago, I bought a pair and have found them better than anything else I have ever owned, including my beloved Corcoran jump boots. The quality is, or at least, has been, outstanding. I have a very high instep, but the lace and zipper arrangement on the EMS works fine. Constantly going through airport security, the zippers are a big help for on/off. Comfort, durability, value. All top drawer. Note that the sizes are a bit unusual and some buddies of mine have not been able to get the fit they want. Highly recommended.
Awesome comfortable boots from day 1. I work many hours on my feet and these boots are something that I do not have to worry about. They keep my feet protected and are comfortable.
I had bought a pair of Airpower R-l boot in which I have used them for about 3 years. These boots are currently back up boots. I had just resoled the approx l year ago. I absolutely wear out lesser boots in less than a year on the average. These boots are some of the most comfortable boots that I have owned. I have gotten a GREAT lifespan out of these boots. I had them refurbished approx a year ago. The refurbished boot however were not up to standard. The resole is not done by Haix, but by a Haix approved company. When they resole boot they of course shave and resole the boots, Replace the toe, & "shampoo" the interior. The toe of these boots is rubber. The toe is an aggressive style in which I like. One problem is that the toe started to separate from the boot. VVhen this happened the boots started to leak. I have also started to see the sole separate from where they were shaved off. I would, & have thoroughly recommended these boots. I know of at least 3 other guys at work, including the one that has recommended the boots to me I know that one of the guys has been wearing these boots for 3 years and still has a bunch of life left in them. The guy that recommended them to me has just now bought another pair. These are AWESOME boots. I will buy another pair in the near future.
Thanks for making a great product!
Would like to say how awesome the airpower r1 station boot is, I have had a pair for a month now. I have used and abused the boots, you see here in Oklahoma everyday is a new challenge! With the recent storms while responding to tornados and flooding, I have put them through the ringer! Walked many miles through rubble and deep water, while the boots aren't designed for this type of work they didn't have a choice! They have a few cuts a scrapes and don't look new, they are broke in and show signs of memories I can't forget! Thanks for making a great product! At this rate I'm going and the abuse I have put on these boots, I will buy another pair and not be so hard on them! I have recommended them to other guys and will keep doing so!
