I bought the Airpower XR1's at the same time I bought these. I wanted something that offered protection for my feet on the ambulance, but was also breathable and light for when the weather is… I bought the Airpower XR1's at the same time I bought these. I wanted something that offered protection for my feet on the ambulance, but was also breathable and light for when the weather is hot. These have been amazing. They are slip on with an easy lace to tighten, breathable, Offer puncture and toe protection and were almost immediately broken in. They have more tread than the average shoe and can easily be worn in loose terrain. Haix will be my go to work shoe/boot for the rest of my career

The shoe laces work great, which is something I… This shoe has been awesome! The sole is more hard than I'm used to, but despite that I am actually surprised at how comfortable they've been. The shoe laces work great, which is something I was concerned about (I've never used laces like this before, but they're great). I work in fields with quite a lot of mesquite with HUGE thorns, but in these shoes my feet have been wonderfully protected! To not have a mesquite thorn in the bottom of my foot is simply outstanding. Mesquite thorns can go straight through the bottom of typical tennis shoes. I love the toe on these, too, and am not worried about anything being dropped on my toes (it's not a steel toe, so the shoe is still pretty light). I ordered my shoes in the size I normally wear, and I am glad I ordered them "wide". I hope this helps. I really like this shoe, and may buy some cushy insoles for them, and will absolutely buy another pair when the time comes. These shoes are simply spectacular for what I need them to do.

Well, I believe I found them! Definitely heavier than a tennis shoe, but way better than wearing the boots, including being so much cooler.

So Far, So Good
I was searching for a shoe that was comfortable and offered the needed protection around the firehouse. While I have only had the shoes for a couple of weeks, they have been a relief from what I was wearing. The only issue is the fit around the tongue and I am learning how to adjust it appropriately.
